With
over 28 years combined experience in custom stained glass work, the
staff at Seraphim Studios is ready to help each client design a unique
piece of lasting artwork for the home, office, or other location. While
specializing in residential commissions, commercial commissions are
welcomed by the studio. All pieces ~ large or small ~ are crafted by
hand using either copper foil or traditional leading techniques, dependent
upon the design developed in conjunction with the client. The
completed panel is numbered, signed and dated, and special care is
taken to insure that each is unique.
Perhaps the most technically challenging
recent work was a rendering of the architectural plans for a portion
of the championship Timberton Golf Course into glass, as a fund raiser
for a University of Southern Mississippi scholarship endowment. In
November of 2000, the studio completed its portion of the restoration
project on Hattiesburg's historic Saenger Theater, which involved
re-glazing six light fixtures in the main auditorium and four fixtures
in the main lobby, as well as the fabrication of some thirty new
wall sconces.
Seraphim Studios, LLC, also provides
instructors/facilitators to the Institute for Learning in Retirement
at the University of Southern Mississippi, one of the programs of
USM’s Department of Continuing Education. Previous classes
provided for ILR have included introductory leading, the basics of
copper foiling, and stepping stones.
All visitors receive a complimentary
copy of the latest edition of Stained Glass News and
have access to a wide variety of free patterns from the studio "library."
Our studio maintains memberships
in the South
Mississippi Art Association, the Historic
Hattiesburg Downtown Association and the Hattiesburg Arts Council.
We are also a member of the Art
